Don’t let fear, interfere with you in Social Media!

I believe you are hearing “Social Media” many times while you are surfing in Internet. If you are a business owner probably you already start thinking how you can implement social media? or may be you created a Facebook Page, have an account on Twitter, and have a blog but right now have no idea how you can move forward! I’m meeting so many prospect clients, or business owners and they either have one of those tools which created by their college kids or started their own and didn’t understand the logic. Don’t panic. You are still on the right track. Just be you :) Those tools created to serve you and work with you. Social media offers you the opportunity of doing in-depth research at virtually no cost. It is possible to set goals and get ROI, but you have to know where you’re going and what you want to achieve. Tap into the online conversations to find out; who is talking about you; what they are saying; what are your competitors doing in social media and many more.
Once you have this information you can allocate your resources wisely. You’ll know where to start and what social sites you should be concentrating on. A social media marketing strategy is your roadmap. Try to draw that roadmap wisely. But don’t let fear, interfere with you :)

Social Media Strategy

What type of marketing techniques are you using? Are you involved with Social Media or Social Networking? If yes, do you know that you need a comprehensive social media strategy in place before event starting in. Without a strategy, it’ll just a waist of time. Probably you even started some tools, like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. But are you using them properly. There are so many people or business out there that they still don’t know what is the difference between Facebook Profile and Facebook Pages. But you should! First of all define your goal, create your plan and implement your strategy. You can’t just set up a Twitter account and start blasting tweets with the hopes of people embracing you.

You have to be engaged in conversations. If you’re not engaged, how will people know you exist, or worse, feel compelled to pay attention to anything you have to say? Think about these points as you create your plan. Be consistent, don’t start it and leave it. It’ll give you harm. Be social, be persistent and consistent. Get out there and feel the power of social media.

At least take a look at this, it’ll help your decision. “How Businesses Spend Their Social Media Dollars” at Flowtown

Complexity of Simplicity

“Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that’s creativity.”—Charles Mingus

“Business is simple. We make it complicated for some unknown reason.” says Chris Brogan, in Simple Often Wins and he explains “If you run a hotel, the business is this: fill beds with happy guests. Everything is geared around that. We can add “at a reasonable operating margin” to pretty much every business, including the hotel business. Restaurants: serve as many meals as possible per hour. TV: get as many viewers per show, and charge ad rates accordingly.” – Chris Brogan

It just reminded me my big confusion in life; Life is too simple, yet as human beings, we are making it complicated. Can you imagine; we all know that we have this life time and as we know we were born, we’ll die one day. So why we are not living it simple, yet happy. Let’s live simple lives, do simple businesses. Simplicity and complexity are two sides of a coin; so lets don’t play the game. Just put the coin on the table :) “Everything is simpler than you think and at the same time more complex than you imagine.”
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

What is Social CRM? and Why It’s Important?

I read a blog post by Jacob Morgan as probably you watched his slideshare presentation as well. He also defines what is CRM and what is the difference between CRM and Social CRM. So lets take a look what he says; “In order to understand what Social CRM is we first have to understand traditional CRM. At the very basic level CRM is essentially a contact list with information about who you know, how you know them, and how you have interacted with them. You categorize people in your CRM tool as leads, friends, prospects, or anything else that helps you define who that person is and how you know them. What we are dealing with here is a collection of data about people that you “know”; you then use that data to help manage your relationships (which in most cases is with your customers). CRM has been around for over 20 years and has been used by both small and large companies to keep track of their customers. CRM systems are designed to create a process around the interaction that your company has with its customers in hopes of more efficiently closing a sale or resolving some sort of an issue. Examples of popular CRM systems include Salesforce, Zoho, Sugar CRM, and many others.

So what is Social CRM? Well, first let’s take a look at what has happened to get from CRM to Social CRM. The difference between these two is just one word, social. Social brings a new element into CRM because now instead of just dealing with data and information we are dealing with conversations and relationships. These conversations and relationships take place not just from company to consumer but also from consumer to consumer. Think of twitter as a simple example. Let’s say you are a large brand on twitter such as Southwest Airlines. You are building relationships with your followers but you also have the ability to build relationships with and listen to (and engage) customers that are having conversations about you. Traditional CRM didn’t work with twitter or facebook or with any other social platform, it was just a collection of data and information. So again, the big different between CRM and Social CRM is that we now have all these conversations and relationships to consider.”

Social CRM is a business strategy, it is not technology, tools or platform. Social CRM can be defined as the business strategy of engaging customers through Social Media with goal of building trust and brand loyalty.

Reason why many of the CRM implementations failed over the last decade is that the underlying CRM related business processes were not re-engineered or optimized for the CRM system.

Before implementing Social CRM solution, we should have a clear idea of how we are going to use the information collected and how we can apply advanced analytics not only to analyze the past, but also predict the future consumer behavior and fix problems before they become crisis.

Why Social CRM is important? Because of the topic “How to determine Social Media and SCRM value and ROI”
If you are involved with social media, probably you heard those questions so many times.
How much is this going to cost me?
What cash flows will I get in return?
How will this enable me to achieve my strategic objectives?
What are the risks?

So Thank You Jacob Morgan for a nice slideshare presentation, and keeping the interest in Social CRM.

Privacy Matters

The issue with Facebook isn’t so much that information is being shared, it’s that information is being freely shared, but at the time of posting, people thought it was private. Facebook went from an “opt in” network to an “opt out” network. This is bad for Facebook users, but it’s a good teaching moment. As parents and pioneers in the social web, we can use this moment in time as a teaching tool. I definitely won’t quit Facebook. But what I’m saying is that you should be aware of your responsibilities. You should be conscious. Consciousness is basically awareness. Awareness of many great things. Your existence, sensations, thoughts, surroundings, actions, etc.. By being aware, you have a better understanding of your environment. So instead of ignoring the situations, problems; we need to solve them. We need to teach our kids the Internet responsibility. Because those type of stories are really and truly heartbreaking.“Facebook Fake Lures Teen Nona Belomesoff Into Death Trap, Say Cops; Job Offer Ends in Murder” The more you get involved with social media, you are allowing more and more people to your online presence. But if and when you want to meet in person, you should do a big research, to see whether that person exists or not; who is he/she? There are so many online networks that one way or another it gives you the hint of that persons character. If you are not sure, please don’t risk your life. There is Skype, that you can meet face to face, if its that urgent you want to meet. Privacy matters, Your Life Matters.

Hello world!

I was staying a way and waiting somehow it happens. It didn’t. Thanks to Cengiz, he took so much out of his time to help me understand so I can take the lead. So I truly appreciate for your understanding. If you find some mistakes or things to judge please let me know because I ready to listen any comments.
